The company is in charge of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Preparing the investment process and acting as the investor<\/strong> in the project for the construction of Poland&#8217;s first nuclear power plant. It will also be responsible for the construction of additional reactors with a total installed capacity of approximately <strong>6 GWe to 9 GWe<\/strong>, based on proven, large-scale, <strong>Generation III(+) pressurized water nuclear reactors<\/strong>, as well as their potential operation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Supporting the government administration<\/strong> in efforts to achieve the goals of the Polish Nuclear Energy Program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Building public support<\/strong> for the development of nuclear energy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The sole owner of <strong>Polskie Elektrownie J\u0105drowe<\/strong> is the <strong>State Treasury<\/strong>. According to a <strong>2021 regulation by the Council of Ministers<\/strong>, the company is overseen by the <strong>Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The development of the nuclear energy program is one of the key pillars of <strong>Poland\u2019s energy transition<\/strong>. This program is outlined in two key government documents on the country&#8217;s energy strategy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Polish Nuclear Energy Program<\/strong>, whose current version was adopted by the Council of Ministers on <strong>October 2, 2020<\/strong>.
