During his time as Minister of Energy, Smith announced many significant initiatives to address the province\u2019s growing electricity demand, including the first new nuclear builds in more than two decades and refurbishments at the province\u2019s existing fleet of reactors.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prior to his election in 2011, Smith was a well-known TV and Radio host in Eastern Ontario, where he served as the News Director for a local broadcasting company.
