Todd Smith

  • The Honourable Todd Smith as Vice-President, Marketing and Business Development is responsible for international business growth and sales of the Canadian-developed CANDU® nuclear reactor. 
  • Before joining Candu Energy Inc. an AtkinsRéalis company in the summer of 2024, Todd Smith was an Ontario Cabinet Minister in Canada’s largest province.
  • Over his 13-year career as an elected Member of the Provincial Parliament he held many key portfolios including Energy, Economic Development and Trade and served as the Government House Leader. During his time as Minister of Energy, Smith announced many significant initiatives to address the province’s growing electricity demand, including the first new nuclear builds in more than two decades and refurbishments at the province’s existing fleet of reactors. 
  • Prior to his election in 2011, Smith was a well-known TV and Radio host in Eastern Ontario, where he served as the News Director for a local broadcasting company. Born in Moncton , New Brunswick, Smith attended the University of New Brunswick and graduated from the Broadcast program at Loyalist College in Belleville Ontario.  

Ian Edwards

  •  Ian L. Edwards was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AtkinsRéalis on October 31, 2019. On June 11, 2019, he was named Interim President and CEO and became a member of its Board of Directors. He has over 30 years of global experience in delivering complex infrastructure and resources projects and leading businesses in many sectors and across numerous geographies including North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. 
  • As President and CEO, he is responsible for reviewing the strategic direction of the Company on an expedited basis and in developing a plan for sustainable success that de-risks and simplifies the company’s business model and generates consistent earnings and cash flow. 
  • Before being appointed to his current role, Mr. Edwards was named Chief Operating Officer (COO) in January 2019 where he has taken the lead in executing the initiative to simplify, focus, and grow the business and implemented numerous measures to improve the operational performance of the company, ensuring that the efficiency and project oversight measures are being successfully executed. 
  • Mr. Edwards joined AtkinsRéalis in 2014 and was later appointed President, Infrastructure in 2015. As President, Infrastructure, he led employees within AtkinsRéalis’ global Infrastructure business and oversaw the successful turnaround and transformation of the sector. 
  • Prior to joining AtkinsRéalis, he spent six years in senior roles with the Leighton Group, where as Managing Director, Leighton Asia, India and Offshore, he led a diverse business of 20,000 employees spanning the construction, infrastructure, oil and gas and mining sectors in 14 countries. 
  • Mr. Edwards holds Higher and Ordinary Certificates in Civil Engineering from Lancashire University in the United Kingdom. He is an incorporated Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. 

Dominik Brodacki

  • Head of the Energy Department at Polityka Insight and, since 2017, co-creator of the analytical service PI Energy.
  • Since 2016, he has also been an expert at the Ignacy Łukasiewicz Institute for Energy Policy, and since 2025 he has lectured at Lazarski University, where he defended his PhD dissertation entitled The Impact of International Conditions on the Development of Nuclear Energy in Poland (2010–2023).
  • Previously, for several years he provided legal advisory services to Polish and foreign enterprises.
  • He is the author and consultant of academic publications, reports, strategies, and several thousand market analyses, including on energy policy, energy law, nuclear energy, the gas sector, offshore wind energy, support schemes for renewable energy sources, and district heating. He is also a co-creator of the podcast PI Climate and Energy, which received the Platinum Megawatt award.
  • He graduated in law, European studies, and doctoral studies at the University of Warsaw, and completed an MBA at WSB University.

Jacek Zatorski

  • Since 1994, he has been associated with the local government of the city and county; since 1998, he has served as a County Councillor, and in the years 2002–2006 he also held the position of Starost of Bełchatów County.
  • He is a graduate of the University of Physical Education in Wrocław, has completed postgraduate studies in local government law at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, postgraduate studies in “Comprehensive Business Management” at the Higher School of Banking and Finance in Katowice, and a course for members of supervisory boards of State Treasury companies.
  • Since May 2024, he has served as the Starost of Bełchatów County.

Piotr Pawłowicz

  • Graduate of Szczecin University of Technology (specialization: automation and control systems), West Pomeranian Business School (Executive MBA), and Gdańsk University of Technology (postgraduate studies: Nuclear Energy).
  • At AIC S.A., as Business Unit Director (Strategic Projects), he, together with his team, is responsible for managing strategic projects (including those dedicated to the nuclear industry) in the following areas:

  • Project and contract management
  • Quality assurance
  • Technology
  • Strategic procurement
  • An experienced manager of sales processes and the execution of technologically advanced projects (custom, low-volume, and serial production) dedicated to complex metal structures and industrial equipment for global clients

Maciej Tankiewicz

  • Specialist in environmental health.
  • Head of the Department of Environmental Toxicology at the Medical University of Gdańsk and of the undergraduate program in Environmental Health.
  • By training, he holds a habilitation degree in medical sciences and health sciences, and is also a chemist.
  • In his research, he focuses on food toxicology, ecotoxicology, and the impact of environmental changes on human health.
  • He pays particular attention to health risks arising from exposure to emerging contaminants, including endocrine-disrupting substances.
  • He actively participates in initiatives aimed at adapting cities to climate change and improving residents’ quality of life.
  • He is a member of the Polish Society of Environmental Medicine, the Polish Chemical Society, the Polish Toxicological Society, and the Gdańsk Scientific Society.

Julia Ziółkowska 

  • Julia Ziółkowska focuses on issues of sustainable development in the context of local development, with a particular emphasis on the role of social capital.
  • She also studies the spatial dimensions of development, cultural tourism, and the importance of local initiatives in shaping territorial cohesion.
  • In her work, she primarily employs qualitative research methods.
  • She is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Socio-Economic Geography and Spatial Management at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Gdańsk, and serves as the Deputy Director of the institute.

Jan Domanik

  • Jan has been working in the financial institutions and government sector for over 20 years.
  • Moreover, he has many years of experience related to sustainable development. He has supported the largest banks, both in Poland and abroad, in such areas as: identification of key regulatory obligations, the design, of processes and products (e.g., LMA green lending), the calculation of the carbon footprint (including forthe investment portfolio), the development of reporting in accordance with the requirements of the CSRD Directive, as well as decarbonisation plans, including accession to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).
  • He has participated in projects aimed at identifying key ESG risk factors.
  • In his career, he has participated in audits of the financial statements of the largest banks in Poland. He has also supported Polish and foreign clients in the development of their businesses in Poland, Central and Eastern European countries and the Middle East.
  • He has been associated with PFR since 2025, previously in 2008-2024 he worked in the audit and business advisory departments of PwC.
  • Before joining PwC he was employed at the National Bank of Poland for over 2 years.

Anna Talarowska

  • She currently serves as a Principal Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Poland, where her work focuses on key engineering aspects and the licensing processes of nuclear power plants.
  • Previously, she spent several years at the National Centre for Nuclear Research in Świerk as a research and technical specialist.
  • She is an active member of the Polish Nuclear Society and serves on the Board of the European Nuclear Society Young Generation Network.
  • Anna earned her degree in Energy Engineering from the Faculty of Mechanical, Power and Aeronautical Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology, as well as in Nuclear Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Barcelona.
