Jadwiga Najder

  • Jadwiga Najder is a nuclear engineer and Science and Outreach Manager at the European Nuclear Society (ENS), where she is responsible for scientific activities and partnerships.
  • In her role, she supports the work of the High Scientific Council, an ENS body bringing together renowned European scientists.
  • With a strong interest in climate issues and related communication, she has also coordinated the “Nuclear for Climate” initiative, supporting youth delegations in raising awareness of nuclear energy at the United Nations Climate Change Conferences (Conference of the Parties – COP).
  • From 2021 to 2023, Jadwiga also served as Chair of the ENS Young Generation Network.
  • Previously, as a Nuclear Engineering Consultant at Oakridge SAS, she worked on the design of systems for the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant.

Paweł Smoliński

  • President of the Polish Office of Technical Inspection, has been associated with the Office of Technical Inspection (Urząd Dozoru Technicznego) since 2009.
  • He began his career as an Inspector in the Department of Technology. He later served as Coordinator of the Nuclear Energy Team. He also held the positions of Head of the Energy and Qualification Verification Division and Head of the Technical Services Development and Testing Methods Division.
  • Since 2019, he has served as Director of the Department of Innovation and Development.
  • He was responsible for preparing the Office of Technical Inspection for tasks related to the construction of nuclear power plants in Poland. He implemented innovative technical testing methods and solutions supporting inspection activities.
  • He is an experienced manager with extensive expert knowledge in areas such as management, nuclear energy, energy transition, international cooperation, legislation, and the execution of large-scale projects.
  • He has represented the Office of Technical Inspection in the international association of inspection bodies, TIC Council, as well as at international forums on topics including nuclear energy and electromobility.
  • He earned his Engineering degree from the Faculty of Mechatronics at Warsaw University of Technology, and also completed Postgraduate Studies in Nuclear Energy at the same institution.
  • Additionally, he completed Postgraduate Management Studies at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH).

Marta Žiaková

  • Dr. Marta Žiaková has served as Chairperson of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic (ÚJD SR) since 2002. With decades of professional experience in the nuclear field, she is widely regarded as an internationally respected expert, combining deep technical knowledge with extensive high-level international engagement.
  • She earned a PhD in Technical Cybernetics from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, where she had previously completed her MSc in Technical Cybernetics – Automatic Technology at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Her academic background laid the foundation for a career that bridges advanced engineering, nuclear safety, and regulatory leadership.
  • Dr. Žiaková has played an active role in numerous expert missions of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), contributing to international peer reviews and safety initiatives. She represented Slovakia as Governor to the IAEA Board of Governors during two terms (2004–2006 and 2013–2015) and went on to serve as Chair of the Board in 2014–2015. In 2018, she presided over the 62nd IAEA General Conference, one of the agency’s most significant annual gatherings.
  • Her leadership has also extended beyond the IAEA framework. In 2015, she chaired the Steering Committee on Nuclear Energy of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (OECD/NEA), helping guide policy dialogue among leading nuclear nations. From March 2019 to December 2023, she served as Chairperson of the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG), where she played a key role in strengthening nuclear safety cooperation and regulatory coordination across the European Union.
  • Throughout her career, Dr. Žiaková has been recognized for her commitment to nuclear safety, international collaboration, and the advancement of robust, transparent regulatory practices worldwide.

Oleh Korikov

  • Chairman of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU) and the Chief State Inspector for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of Ukraine.
  • Over 30 years of experience in the nuclear energy sector, public regulation, and investment management.
  • Former Director of the Department of Nuclear Energy at the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

Michael Knochenhauer

  • Master of Science in Engineering Physics. He earned his degree from the Royal Institute of Technology in 1983.
  • He is the Director General at SSM, the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority.
  • At SSM, he is responsible for a wide range of activities related to all aspects of radiation safety, including nuclear safety, radiation protection, security, and nuclear non-proliferation.
  • He joined SSM in 2014 and previously held positions as Director for Nuclear Power Plant Safety and Director for Regulation and Knowledge Development.
  • He has over 40 years of experience in nuclear safety, gained both on the industry side and as a regulator.
  • He began his career at ASEA-Atom, the Swedish reactor vendor (now Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB), during the commissioning of the latest Swedish Generation III reactors – Forsmark 3 and Oskarshamn 3.
  • Before joining SSM, he worked for several years at Lloyd’s Register Consulting (LRC), holding various positions, including CEO of LRC Sweden and R&D Director at the group level.

Andrzej Głowacki

  • President of the National Atomic Energy Agency – since March 22, 2023.
  • He has been associated with the NAEA for over a decade, serving as the Agency’s Vice President and holding the position of Director of the Nuclear Safety Department.
  • He represents Poland in numerous international nuclear regulatory organizations, including the Western European Nuclear Regulators Association.
  • He holds a degree in Physics and completed postgraduate studies in nuclear energy at the Warsaw University of Technology.
  • He has undergone numerous national and international training programs related to nuclear safety and radiological protection, including on-the-job training at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
  • He is a co-author of a handbook for nuclear regulatory inspectors, published by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Jonas Kimontas

  • Jonas Kimontas is the Head of Project Management at Altra, responsible for leading one of Europe’s most complex nuclear decommissioning programs.
  • He oversees five project portfolios and more than 60 active projects with a total value exceeding €1 billion, covering dismantling, radioactive waste management, risk governance, project controls, and the digitalisation of project delivery processes.
  • He has over 15 years of leadership experience in the energy, infrastructure, and investment sectors, having held senior positions at Vilnius District Heating Company, National Railways, Lords LB Asset Management, KN Energies, Invest Lithuania, and EY.
  • His background spans power generation, district heating, transport infrastructure, regulated services, investment portfolio management, PPP development, and cross-sector stakeholder coordination at national and EU levels.
  • Jonas holds an Executive MBA, a BSc in Applied Mathematics, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • He is known for his strategic approach, experience managing large technical teams, and hands-on expertise delivering high-complexity infrastructure and energy projects.

Gintautas Klevinskas

  • Dr. Gintautas Klevinskas is a specialist in radioactive waste management, nuclear safety regulation, and decommissioning processes.
  • He has over 25 years of experience covering operational oversight, regulatory compliance, and the development of systems aligned with Lithuanian and international standards.
  • His expertise includes safety assessment methodologies, application of the defence-in-depth concept, lifecycle control of sealed radioactive sources, and the decommissioning of legacy radioactive waste facilities, including processes related to issuing and revoking licenses.
  • Dr. Klevinskas has been involved in preparing various documents and professional presentations for regulatory bodies, international workshops, and internal project reviews.
  • His work also includes coordinating radioactive waste management and disposal issues with stakeholders in the decommissioning of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant and the Maišiagala repository.
  • In addition to technical and regulatory tasks, he has experience in developing training materials, summarizing complex legal requirements, and facilitating discussions within multidisciplinary teams.
