Marcin Jaskólski

  • Dr hab. Eng., Professor at Gdańsk University of Technology
  • Deputy Director of the Nuclear Energy Center at the Gdańsk University of Technology, Plenipotentiary of the Rector for Nuclear Energy at the Gdańsk University of Technology.
  • He participated in training and scientific internships at nuclear centers in France, such as CEA – the Nuclear Energy Commission in Saclay and Electricite de France in Lyon.
  • His research work included, among others, the development of methods for the systemic analysis of a nuclear block with a light-water reactor operating under partial coupling conditions (simultaneous production of electricity and heat).
  • He is the author of numerous publications in international journals and has also been involved in the review process for renowned journals such as ‘Energy’ and ‘Energy Policy’.

Piotr Otawski

  • General Director of Environmental Protection
  • Legal counsel, doctor of legal sciences, MA in environmental protection. He specializes in environmental law, spatial planning law and investment process regulations. He has many years of jurisprudence, legislative and negotiation practice
  • In 2008, he was one of the persons responsible for the preparation and implementation of a comprehensive reform of the law on environmental impact assessments and management of living nature resources.
  • In 2009 -2014 Deputy General Director of Environmental Protection. He represented Poland at the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context (Espoo Convention), sitting in the bodies of the Convention – as Chairman of the Working Group and then Chairman of the Convention Bureau and Chairman of the Meeting of the Parties to the Convention.
  • From 2012 to 2016, he was a member of the Codification Committee for Construction Law.
  • From 2014 to 2015, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Environment – Chief Conservator of Nature.
  • Since 2022, member of the Expert Commission on Climate and Space at the Ombudsman working on the assumptions of environmental spatial planning reform.

Paweł Gajda

  • Director of the Department of Nuclear Energy, Ministry of Energy
  • lecturer at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow,
  • Vice-President of the European Nuclear Society, one of the oldest associations for research and development of nuclear energy in Europe; Secretary General of the Polish Nuclear Society,
  • He has worked on many international research projects in the field of new reactor technologies.

Robert Paprocki

  • Robert Paprocki has been with PSE, Polish transmission system operator, for 28 years, being responsible for Polish power system operation for more than a decade.
  • Apart from that, he was involved in electricity market implementation and its development as well as in long term power system planning and recently strategic projects of international context.
  • Currently, he acts as the Representative of Board for integration of nuclear power plants. Throughout most of the time heavily involved in international activities, mainly inter TSO cooperation, being a member of numerous working and steering groups as well as convener of couple of them.
  • From 2019 to 2023 he was a member of ENTSOE Board, the association of European TSOs.
  • Author and co-author of more than 50 papers concerning system planning, system operation and electricity market related issues presented at the domestic and international conferences. Graduated from Warsaw University of Technology.

Wojciech Jakóbik

  • Energy sector analyst.
  • He graduated in Political Science (Bachelor’s Degree) and International Relations (Master’s Degree). Lecturer at the College of Eastern Europe at the University of Warsaw.
  • Founder of the Energy Security Centre, the first energy security watchdog in Poland.
  • Member of the editorial board of the quarterly “International Affairs”.
  • He has experience in similar projects and others related to international issues: the Europe Security Energy portal, the projects of the Centre for Political Thought.

Agnieszka Skorupińska

  • Agnieszka Skorupińska is an attorney and partner at the Warsaw office of Baker McKenzie, where she heads up the Sustainability and Energy Transition team. She brings extensive experience advising clients on energy, including RES, nuclear energy, industrial and infrastructure projects, including waste management. She is an expert in advising on the law as it relates to energy, the environment and natural resources.
  • She advises on the regulatory aspects of M&A/PE transactions and greenfield direct investments. She also represents clients in administrative and court proceedings in these areas. She advises on contract structuring as well as projects related to mineral exploration and extraction.
  • She receives regular recognition in international and Polish legal rankings, such as Chambers and Partners (Band 1), The Legal 500 (Rising Star), and Rzeczpospolita (Leader), which attests to her exceptional skills and commitment to supporting clients.

Mirosław Kowalik

  • manager with extensive experience and knowledge of the Polish energy market. Since May 2021, in the position of president of Westinghouse in Poland, where he is responsible for the implementation of investments in the area of nuclear technology, including the construction of the country’s first nuclear power plant based on safe and proven AP1000® technology.
  • Kowalik has more than 25 years of experience in the energy sector and expertise in business management, strategy, new project acquisition and business development, gained in senior management positions at SNC Lavalin, Alstom and ABB, among others. Prior to his position at Westinghouse, he served as CEO of Enea, one of Poland’s largest power companies.
  • He is a graduate of the Electrical Engineering Department of the Maritime Academy in Gdynia. He earned an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management in cooperation with the Foundation for Management Development at the University of Gdansk and completed postgraduate studies in corporate financial management at the Warsaw School of Economics.

Leszek Hołda

  • Leszek Hołda has more than 20 years of experience related to management in large international organizations and extensive knowledge of the telecommunications, IT and energy sectors. In recent years, Leszek Hołda served as a member of the board of PKP Energetyka, where he was responsible, among other things, for the implementation of the Green Rail energy transformation program, aimed at replacing traditional rail energy with renewable sources, in order to achieve zero-emission rail transportation in Poland.
  • Currently, Leszek Holda serves as CEO of Bechtel Polska sp. z o.o. Bechtel is a global partner in engineering, construction and project management for industry and government. It serves the infrastructure, nuclear, safety and environment, energy, and mining and metals markets.
  • In Poland, Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company will be responsible for the design and construction of Poland’s first nuclear power plant (based on the AP1000 nuclear reactor) at the Lubiatowo-Kopalino site in Pomerania.
