Master of Science in Engineering Physics. He earned his degree from the Royal Institute of Technology in 1983.
He is the Director General at SSM, the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority.
At SSM, he is responsible for a wide range of activities related to all aspects of radiation safety, including nuclear safety, radiation protection, security, and nuclear non-proliferation.
He joined SSM in 2014 and previously held positions as Director for Nuclear Power Plant Safety and Director for Regulation and Knowledge Development.
He has over 40 years of experience in nuclear safety, gained both on the industry side and as a regulator.
He began his career at ASEA-Atom, the Swedish reactor vendor (now Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB), during the commissioning of the latest Swedish Generation III reactors – Forsmark 3 and Oskarshamn 3.
Before joining SSM, he worked for several years at Lloyd’s Register Consulting (LRC), holding various positions, including CEO of LRC Sweden and R&D Director at the group level.
