Baltic Nuclear Energy Forum 2026
Energy for a Resilient Society
The Baltic Nuclear Energy Forum 2026 will focus on the role of nuclear energy in building safe, stable, and resilient societies. Experts, policymakers, and industry representatives will gather to discuss how new nuclear technologies, sustainable financing models, and international cooperation can strengthen the foundations of the European energy system. BNEF 2026 is a forum for dialogue on energy that not only drives the economy but also protects communities and future generations.

Nuclear Energy for the Young
March 6, 2026
On 20 March 2026 (11:00–14:00) at the European Solidarity Centre in Gdańsk, a side event of the Baltic Nuclear Energy Forum – “Nuclear Energy for the Young” – will take place.
The meeting, addressed to high school students and university students, will provide an opportunity to learn about career opportunities in the nuclear sector, hear from industry experts, and explore modern technologies and initiatives, including the Polski Atom booth of the Ministry of Energy.
Around 150 young participants will take part in the event. All available places have already been filled and registration is now closed.

William D. Magwood, IV to be a Keynote Speaker at BNEF 2026

We are pleased to announce that William D. Magwood, IV will be one of the Keynote Speakers at BNEF 2026. He has served as Director-General of the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) since 2014. Previously, he held the position of Commissioner of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, appointed by the President of the United States and confirmed by the Senate.
From 1998 to 2005, he was Director of Nuclear Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy, where he launched several key initiatives, including the Generation IV International Forum (GIF). His professional background also includes providing independent strategic and policy advice on energy, environmental, and technology issues, as well as earlier work as a scientist at Westinghouse and the Edison Electric Institute.
William D. Magwood, IV holds Bachelor’s degrees in Physics and English from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Pittsburgh.
