BNEF Study Visit – Sweden (March 16-18, 2026)

We invite you to participate in the study visit organized as part of the Baltic Nuclear Energy Forum, which will take place from March 16-18, 2026. Participants will have the opportunity to visit key industrial facilities in Sweden, including leading companies from the nuclear energy sector, such as MTC Powder Solutions and Westinghouse Electric Sweden. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about the modern technologies used in the production of nuclear fuel and components.

During the visit, participants will also have the chance to meet with representatives of Swedish companies and establish valuable industry connections. Learn more.

The visit is organized thanks to the cooperation with 🇸🇪 Sweden and Business Sweden – the Swedish organization supporting international economic cooperation and innovation.

William D. Magwood, IV to be a Keynote Speaker at BNEF 2026

We are pleased to announce that William D. Magwood, IV will be one of the Keynote Speakers at BNEF 2026. He has served as Director-General of the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) since 2014. Previously, he held the position of Commissioner of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, appointed by the President of the United States and confirmed by the Senate.

From 1998 to 2005, he was Director of Nuclear Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy, where he launched several key initiatives, including the Generation IV International Forum (GIF). His professional background also includes providing independent strategic and policy advice on energy, environmental, and technology issues, as well as earlier work as a scientist at Westinghouse and the Edison Electric Institute.

William D. Magwood, IV holds Bachelor’s degrees in Physics and English from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Pittsburgh.

Baltic Energy Week is a joint initiative of the organizers of the Baltic Nuclear Energy Forum and PowerConnect, created to support the energy transition.

This partnership represents another step in strengthening Gdańsk’s role as a place where visions, technologies, and decisions crucial to the energy future of the Baltic Sea region come together.

BNEF – a platform connecting science, business, and the public sector – together with PowerConnect, will support dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the development of projects that enhance the security and resilience of energy systems in Europe.

The cooperation includes initiating contacts between international stakeholders and promoting innovative energy technologies.
