The Honourable Todd Smith as Vice-President, Marketing and Business Development is responsible for international business growth and sales of the Canadian-developed CANDU® nuclear reactor.
Before joining Candu Energy Inc. an AtkinsRéaliscompany in the summer of 2024, Todd Smith was an Ontario Cabinet Minister in Canada’s largest province.
Over his 13-year career as an elected Member of the Provincial Parliament he held many key portfolios including Energy, Economic Development and Trade and served as the Government House Leader. During his time as Minister of Energy, Smith announced many significant initiatives to address the province’s growing electricity demand, including the first new nuclear builds in more than two decades and refurbishments at the province’s existing fleet of reactors.
Prior to his election in 2011, Smith was a well-known TV and Radio host in Eastern Ontario, where he served as the News Director for a local broadcasting company. Born in Moncton , New Brunswick, Smith attended the University of New Brunswick and graduated from the Broadcast program at Loyalist College in Belleville Ontario.
