Łukasz Sawicki

  • Nuclear Sector Analyst. Active in the nuclear industry since 2006, including 14 years in government administration in roles related to the economics of nuclear energy. Specializes in business models for nuclear energy and is a co-author of the SaHo Model (developed jointly with Dr. Bożena Horbaczewska from SGH).
  • Member of the Polish Nuclear Society. Currently serves as a Counselor in the Department of Nuclear Energy at the Ministry of Industry.
  • Lecturer in postgraduate studies on Nuclear Energy at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) and Wrocław University of Science and Technology, focusing on the economic aspects of nuclear energy.

Jan Styliński

  • Attorney, President of the Polish Association of Construction Employers, Vice President of the Polish Cluster of Construction Exporters, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs.
  • Member of the Road Experts Council at the Minister of Infrastructure of the Republic of Poland and the team of experts at the Minister of Investment and Development for developing PPP policies and legislative changes. In 2019, appointed by the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology to the Public Procurement Council at the Public Procurement Office (UZP). Member of the Tripartite Team for Construction and Economy at the Ministry of Development, Labor, and Technology, as well as the Entrepreneurs’ Council at the SME Ombudsman.

Paweł Urbańczyk

  • He has been associated with the Office of Technical Inspection (UDT) for over twenty years. He has gained experience and knowledge in the field of technical supervision by advancing through successive career levels. He was responsible for conducting inspection activities in facilities of strategic importance to the Polish economy.
  • He possesses not only practical knowledge regarding the functioning of the organization and its legal environment but also an understanding of market realities related to the implementation of strategic projects and investments in Poland’s critical infrastructure, where UDT operates as an Inspection, Notified, and Certification Body. As a representative of the UDT-CERT Notified Body, he managed projects for the power and heating industries. He was responsible for leading multi-disciplinary teams of UDT experts. He is also a lecturer at the UDT Academy.
  • In 2016, he obtained a PhD in technical sciences in the discipline of machine construction and operation from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science at Częstochowa University of Technology. He has participated as an expert in numerous national and international conferences on technical supervision. He is the author and co-author of articles on materials for the energy sector published in national press, as well as a co-author of scientific and technical publications. He is a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Katowice Branch – Energy Commission.
  • For his contribution to the functioning of UDT, expert knowledge, and work for public safety, he was awarded the “Distinguished for Technical Supervision” honor in 2022.

Adam Kisiel

  • Graduate of the Faculty of Physics at the Warsaw University of Technology, employed at the same faculty in the Department of Nuclear Physics since 2005.
  • His research work broadly covers nuclear physics, particularly the physics of heavy ion collisions.
  • He specializes in particle correlation topics, studies of the nuclear matter phase diagram, and the properties of quark-gluon plasma.
  • He leads a research group within the Heavy Ion Reactions Laboratory, participating in major international Big Science collaborations, such as the ALICE experiment at CERN.
  • He has completed several years of international fellowships, including at Ohio State University and at the CERN laboratory. For many years, he has been teaching courses in experimental nuclear physics to students at the Warsaw University of Technology, training young specialists for the Polish nuclear industry.
  • Within the Warsaw University of Technology, he organizes activities in the high energy physics community, particularly serving as the Chairman of the Research Center for High Energy Physics and Experimental Techniques Council, operating under the Excellence Initiative – Research University project.
  • In 2023, he was appointed as the Plenipotentiary of the Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology for nuclear energy.

Stephen Comello

  • Currently Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at the EFI Foundation, Executive Director of the Nuclear Scaling Initiative, and Co-Managing Director of the Energy Futures Finance Forum.
  • Previously, he served for over a decade as a faculty member at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he co-led the Rapid Decarbonization Initiative.
  • With 23 years of experience in scaling emerging technologies in the energy and environmental sectors, he specializes in policy and business model innovations. His expertise includes techno-economic analysis, policy and project finance, corporate strategies for the energy transition, and open innovation.
  • At Stanford, he held leadership roles in numerous research initiatives and industry collaboration programs.
  • He has authored numerous publications on energy policy, industrial organization, development economics, innovation management, and carbon accounting.

Malwina Qvist

  • Currently the Nuclear Energy Program Director, leading efforts to accelerate the deployment of new nuclear technologies globally, with a particular focus on Europe and the United States.
  • A member of the Executive Team of the Nuclear Scaling Initiative, a collaborative project aimed at creating a nuclear energy ecosystem with a capacity exceeding 50 GW by the 2030s. Her expertise and leadership play a key role in developing the initiative’s strategies and driving its activities.
  • With a strong background in nuclear engineering, she combines deep technical knowledge with advanced analytical skills, advising senior policymakers, ministers, and private developers on various low-carbon energy sources.
  • Prior to her current role, a Senior Analyst on the Energy Systems Analysis team, focusing on CATF’s European programs and advocacy initiatives within the European Union.
  • Her previous experience includes working at Cornwall Insight, where she closely collaborated with renewable energy developers to navigate energy markets and regulatory frameworks in Great Britain.
  • She also served as a civil servant in the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), utilizing her analytical skills to shape energy policies aimed at achieving the UK’s zero-emission goals.

Andrzej Sidło

  • Ministerial Counselor, Department of Nuclear Energy, Ministry of Industry.
  • Responsible for industrial aspects of the implementation of nuclear energy in Poland, including: monitoring the capabilities of the domestic industry in terms of carrying out tasks for the nuclear energy sector, overseeing the execution of over 30 projects aimed at stimulating the national industry (such as specialized trade missions and training programs presenting specific aspects of nuclear energy, including technical aspects, quality requirements, and international standards), and developing technical regulations for international industry standards. Additionally responsible for preparing technical legislation and R&D programs related to nuclear energy for the benefit of the Polish industry.
  • To 2012: 10 years of experience in various positions at Polimex-Mostostal/ZREW, managing export-oriented industrial projects in sectors such as conventional and nuclear energy, district heating, petrochemicals, thermal waste treatment installations, and others.

Doug Bamsey

  • Over 20 years’ experience in a senior leadership role in a Municipality, as Strategic Director and as Deputy Chief Executive.  A town planner by background.
  • Lead the Municipality’s positive participation in shaping the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station project – championing the local community and local businesses. Ensuring that impacts were addressed, and opportunities maximised.  
  • Since September 2023, independent chair of the three Hinkley Point C Community Forums. Working with Nuleaf, which represent Municipalities across England and Wales dealing with nuclear legacy. Supporting the municipality of Borsele and the Province of Zeeland, Netherlands in responding to the potential of a new nuclear power station.  

Blanka Jędrzejewska

  • With education, experience, and passion, she has been involved in environmental protection for many years, initially in the private sector, particularly in the waste management industry.
  • She is a long-time local government official with experience working in a city with county rights, where she was responsible for implementing municipal waste management and overseeing water and wastewater management.
  • At the Marshal’s Office of the Silesian Voivodeship, she was responsible for strategic planning in the field of environmental protection. Her responsibilities included the air protection program, including the preparation and implementation of the anti-smog resolution, the environmental protection program, the noise protection program, and the waste management plan with an investment plan. Additionally, her work covered the protected landscape areas of Silesia.
  • In the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis, she leads the Department of Infrastructure and Environment, coordinating projects for metropolitan cities and municipalities in the areas of energy efficiency, air quality improvement, circular economy, blue-green infrastructure, and climate change adaptation. Her daily work is guided by the principle of protecting and enhancing biodiversity.
  • She is a graduate of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Environmental Protection, the University of Economics in Katowice in postgraduate business management, and the MBA in Community Management program at the Cracow School of Business.

Tomasz Piotrowski

  • A professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology. Working in the Department of Building Materials Engineering, he focuses on optimizing shielding concrete against ionizing radiation—currently for research installations intended for future power plants utilizing thermonuclear fusion.
  • He is an expert in construction codes, standards, and guidelines related to the development of nuclear power plant projects. Additionally, he specializes in the administrative processes necessary for preparing such investments. As the coordinator for the construction sector, he conducts training sessions for the Polish industry on performing tasks for the nuclear energy sector, organized by IGEOS on behalf of the Ministry of Industry.
  • Until recently, he served as Secretary of the National Council of the Polish Chamber of Civil Engineers. Currently, he is actively involved in regional self-government structures, primarily in the areas of digitization and BIM (Building Information Modeling).
