He is a graduate of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, where he studied Mining as well as Management and Marketing.
From the beginning of his professional career, he has been associated with one of the largest mining companies in Europe – Bełchatów Brown Coal Mine, where he held top management positions.
He has extensive experience in leading and supervising projects in the mining and energy sectors.
He is a participant in the work of the Mining Committee – Surface Mining Section, as well as the Mining Economics Section at the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN).
Between 1999 and 2003, as a member of the management board of KWB Bełchatów S.A., he served as Director of Investments, and between 2006 and 2010, he was President of the Management Board and General Director.
Since July 2009, he simultaneously managed PGE Elektrownia Bełchatów S.A., overseeing its consolidation with 13 energy and mining companies across Poland. Until the end of 2015, he served as President of PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna, one of the five key companies within PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, responsible for the company’s development and long-term competitive positioning in the market.
In 2011, he completed one of the largest investments in the Polish energy sector after 1989 – the construction of Unit 14 (858 MW) at the Bełchatów Power Plant.
During his tenure, the construction of Units 5 and 6 at the Opole Power Plant (1,800 MW total), Unit 7 at the Turów Power Plant (496 MW), a gas-steam unit at the Gorzów CHP Plant, and a Waste-to-Energy Thermal Treatment Installation at the Rzeszów CHP Plant was initiated.
Between 2010 and 2015, he carried out the reconstruction and modernization program of Units 5–12 at the Bełchatów Power Plant.
